Since the formal organization of the Program in Uralic and Altaic Studies in 1956, Indiana University has become one of the world’s leading centers for the scholarly study of the Inner Asian and Uralic Region. Today, the IAUNRC frequently cooperates with the Department of Central Eurasian Studies (CEUS), the Sinor Research Institute for Inner Asian Studies (SRIFIAS), and the Center for the Languages of the Central Eurasian Region (CELCAR) to provide educational and outreach opportunities to the students and faculty of IU, as well as members of the Bloomington community.
