Our center maintains an archive of RFE/RL interviews and stringer reports from the early to mid-nineties in Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Turkmen, and Uzbek. These materials were kindly provided to Indiana University by the Turkic and Tajik services of Radio Liberty. The cataloguing of these materials was supported with a grant from the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Fund. Please note that the summaries are preliminary and unofficial translations prepared by non-native English speakers.
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is a broadcaster funded by the U.S. Congress that provides news, information, and analysis to countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East "where the free flow of information is either banned by government authorities or not fully developed."
